I am jennyf. I am married and have three sons, a daughter-in-law and a grandson. In 2010, the Lord gave me an interest in the life of Christ. November 2014, I was in a car accident. During the months of my rehabilitation, the Lord led me to integrate the gospels in chronological order. It was a blessed time. I believe the preceding years were preparation for the task He had for me.
God still has work for me. He has given me an interest in more specific topics, like the parables and analogies that Jesus spoke to teach the people. How can I share this information? I am choosing to share it via WordPress. If you like this site, check out jennyfdevotions.wordpress.com
I love God’s Word! May the Lord bless each of you as you study His Word!
My prayer is that these posts will interest you and encourage you to read your Bible.
I don’t claim to be a great theologian. I believe one of God’s gifts to me is a simple mind. That doesn’t sound like much of a gift, does it? But my simple mind forces me to take complex information and break it down into understandable pieces. I believe it has allowed me to teach God’s truths in a simple, understandable way.
The Three Bible Verses that are My Call to Ministry
That older women should…be teachers of good things…that they should teach younger women…
My ministry is to women. I have a heart for the woman, daughter, wife, sister, stay-at-home mom, career woman. God first gave me a desire to serve women in 2005 when I went on the first of three mission trips to Mexico. The Lord placed in my heart the desire to tend to the babies there so that the women could listen to God’s word and also attend health and hygiene classes.
When I got home from the trip, I started teaching the adult ladies’ Sunday school class. (I had previously taught the children’s classes.) I also volunteered for the jail ministry at that time but the timing was not right. Four years later, the phone rang. There was a need for me to help with the jail ministry. I believe God used that four years to prepare me for the ministry He has for me. During that time, my Sunday school class spent a year and a half going through the book of Genesis, verse by verse. Then we went on to Exodus and women of the Bible.
Then shall the King say…For I was…sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me…Lord, when did we see you…sick, or in prison, and come to you? And the King shall answer and say, Truly, inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it to me.
Hospitals, nursing homes and prisons – The sick and imprisoned. Not the most pleasant places to visit. But so much need for encouragement. So much need for the Word of God to reach hopeless, helpless people.
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say to them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; notwithstanding you don’t give them those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit them?
Another part of my jail ministry is GED preparation classes. The ladies in the jail need the Word of God. They also need a way to improve their circumstances when they leave the prison.
Another ministry that God has called me to more recently is:
Helping Christians know more about their Bible.
You might say, “I’ve heard the stories of the Bible, but where are they in pages of my Bible?”
I want to help you!
