Two Sons

Matthew 21:28-32

Jesus asked the chief priests and the elders:

What do you think?

A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first.

The man (to the first son): Son, go and work work in my vineyard today.

First son: I will not.

But afterward he repented, and went.

The man (to the second son): Son, go and work work in my vineyard today.

Second son: I will go, sir.

But he did not go.

Jesus (to the chief priests and the elders): Which of the two did the will of his father?

The chief priests and the elders: The first.

Jesus: The publicans and the harlots will go into the kingdom of God before you. Because John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the publicans and the harlots believed him. And when you had seen it, you did not repent afterward and believe him.
